Bridge Pool Cottage
"A real hidden treasure"...
Tresarrett, Blisland, Cornwall, PL30 4QQ
Cycling and fishing
This delightful riverside cottage, with it's 120 foot frontage, is situated at one of the best 'pools' on the River Camel.
Rising on Bodmin Moor, the River Camel flows through wild moorland scenery and ends it course some thirty miles away at Padstow on the North Coast.
The Camel has been fished for salmon and brown sea trout for centuries and during the 2003 season, there were more than twice as many salmon caught on the Camel as any other river in the South West.
The river is only fishable by club members, but we would be more than happy to arrange your permit.
If cycling is more your style, then the famous 'Camel Trail' runs right by our cottage and there are four bicycles available for our guests to use, these are stored in the garage. Following the line of a disused railway, the Camel trail runs along the beautiful Camel Estuary from Padstow, through Wadebridge and Bodmin and then on to the western edge of Bodmin Moor, the real rugged heart of Cornwall. Although not a tarmac surface, it is mainly smooth and flat, however, if you choose to go off the main 18 mile route from Padstow to Bodmin Moor on any of the six well marked routes, you may find some of them a little more strenuous.
In total, there are 109 miles of cycle track through varied scenery, from the beautiful mixed woodlands, to the rivers edge, mudflats and salt marshes of the estuary to the desolate moor. Which ever activities you choose, we are sure you have many happy memories of your time at Bridge Pool Cottage.
